The Baby Boom pregnancy test cassette is used to detect the hCG hormone, i.e. chorionic gonadotropin, in urine samples for early diagnosis of pregnancy at home.
This hormone is secreted after the fertilized egg implants in the uterine wall and its concentration increases over the following days.
The highest concentration is reached at the time when menstruation should occur, so using the Baby Boom test it is possible to diagnose pregnancy just one day after the expected bleeding has not occurred.
In the Baby Boom cassette pregnancy test, a membrane with an absorbent strip is placed over a strip made of glass fiber, impregnated with a colloid with particles of gold and monoclonal antibodies against hCG.
The second absorbent strip, placed on the edge of the plate, serves to absorb excess urine sample.
Upon contact with the membrane, the collected urine sample dissolves the lyophilized conjugate. In a reactive sample, the hCG antigen attaches to antibodies in a colloidal solution.
In the test area, anti-hCG antibodies bind to the hCG-gold coconjugate complex to form a pink line.
After adding another sample, a pink line also appears in the test area, which means that fertilization has most likely occurred.
The presence of a control line means that the test was performed correctly.
The Baby Boom cassette pregnancy test allows you to detect pregnancy as early as 7 days after conception.
Application
Early diagnosis of pregnancy at home by detecting the presence of the hCG hormone in urine.
How to use
The pregnancy test is performed using a clean urine sample.
Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and perform the test immediately.
Use a pipette to collect a urine sample and place a few drops in the well of the cassette (2-3 drops). Be careful not to overfill the absorbent pad.
After 5 minutes, read the test result.
Depending on the concentration of the hCG hormone in the urine, a positive result may appear in as little as 40 seconds, but you must wait a full 5 minutes to confirm the test.
The result read after the designated time may be incorrect.
Interpretation of the pregnancy test results
Positive result:
if two pink lines are visible, one in the control area (C) and one in the test area (T),
this means that the hCG hormone has been detected in your urine and you are probably pregnant,
the lines may be faint and differ in color intensity, but the result is still positive.
Negative result:
if the test shows one pink/purple line in the control area (C) but no line appears in the test area (T), the test result is negative,
this means that the hCG hormone was not detected in the urine – this may indicate that you are not pregnant or you performed the test too early,
If in doubt, repeat the test again after 48 hours.
Incorrect result:
if no line appears, the result is invalid and the test should be repeated using a new test,
it may be caused by insufficient penetration of the absorption strip, too early or too late reading, or failure to meet the reaction time.
